Wondering what it's really like? Maybe you're still undecided?

Imagine yourself here...

It's a crisp fall Thursday morning and you've arrived to homeschool class...

We begin gently, with time for kids to socialize and catch up. As we gather as a group, they can share something about their week—maybe a missing tooth, a cool leaf they found, or a favorite game from home. We review class expectations, our schedule, and let the fun begin!

It’s relaxed and welcoming, like sitting around the family table—but with a few more friends.

Next comes our Book Club! This is a crowd favorite; some weeks we read aloud, others we just do a discussion and some reading will happen at home. We love wrapping up our novel with a movie day or field trip to a local play if available! We are open to book suggestions and are always looking for our next fun read together.

Previous Book Club reads: James and the Giant Peach, Charlotte's Web

We have our main lesson/theme next —this is the heart of our learning time. Ms. Courtney and/or Ms. Jessie leads the group through hands-on activities, small group work, and meaningful discussions centered around our current topic. You might sit beside your child and support them, or step back and watch as they build confidence, partner up with a friend, and tackle something new.

SNACK/LUNCH TIME: Kids grab snacks/lunch from their bags, maybe cozy up with a journal or stretch out on the rug. We play a podcast to listen and it's time for some quiet chatter. This is a great time for adults to check out resources or connect with the other homeschool families!

As we clean up after lunch, we're usually in need of some movement, so we'll sneak in some time for a recess or movement break before jumping into our second lesson/theme of the day as well as Enrichment time. These might be extensions of the morning lesson or something new and fun! Some days you'll be able to bring along your own school work and it'll just be a nice work session that the kids can sit side by side with curriculum!

As the day wraps up with, we have a group reflection or lighthearted wrap-up activity—something that leaves kids feeling accomplished, connected, and eager to return. Materials make their way back to the shelves, friends share a high five or a hug until next time, and you realize you finally had time for that hot coffee today.

And as you leave, your child is buzzing with stories, their hands full of projects, and their heart a little more connected—to the community, to the rhythm, and to the joy of learning.

In Need of Some Social Time?

Come join us for a Curious Explorers Meet Up!

No pressure, no set schedule—just join us with an open heart and whatever your homeschool day needs.

Maybe your child brought their favorite workbook or a sketchpad, or maybe today is all about play and connection.

You join the group, greeted by the warm hum of families settling in, the scent of the local creek and fresh breeze, and kids already diving into the day. Some children are gathering around some bugs they found. Others have joined into a circle and are negotiating rules for their newest playground game (or asking for the adults to give roles for their latest murder mystery IYKYK!). A mom nearby joins in while sipping her coffee. You spot a few kids and parents dipping their toes into the creek or getting geared up to wander the nature trail chatting as they go.

There’s movement and stillness, noise and calm, all coexisting. Some kids spread out to build, others curl up with books and a few wander out to the playground. No one is hurrying. It’s a space to be—to explore, to connect, to lean into learning naturally.

Before you know it, the afternoon has passed. Your child doesn’t want to leave, and honestly—you don’t either. You leave with full hearts, maybe a half-finished project in hand, and the kind of calm joy that comes from spending the day in good company, in a space that sees the beauty in slow, intentional learning.

Whether you decide to enroll in a class or you're just looking for community and connection with other homeschoolers, our doors are open for you.

Drop in, stay awhile, and watch your child’s confidence, curiosity, and connection blossom.
